Puri: Puri has transformed into a grand spectacle as preparations for the annual Rath Yatra enter their final phase. Lord Jagannath is all set to emerge from the Shree Jagannath Temple to bless millions of devotees with His divine darshan, while the pilgrim city wears a festive look to welcome the deities.
Meanwhile, the Odisha police has shared traffic route map, parking sites and other traffic related update for smooth movement of vehicles.
The police have shared the details for passenger buses, four-wheelers and motorcycles. The update has been shared on social media handles. The advisories have been issued for vehicles coming from Brahmagiri, Bhubaneswar and Konark sides.
The post read, “Attention Bus Passengers & Operators! Planning to visit Puri during Rath Yatra 2026? Please follow the official traffic routes and designated parking arrangements for regular and tourist buses. Your cooperation will help ensure smooth traffic movement and a safe pilgrimage for everyone.”
Similarly, the police have shared route map for four-wheelers.
For four-wheelers:
All LMV coming from Brahmagiri side will park at Samaga Parking via Girala Chakka–Mangalaghat Bridge.
Return: Samaga Parking–Mangalaghat Bridge–Girala–Brahmagiri.
LMV coming from the Bhubaneswar side will be allowed up to the designated parking areas on the Talabania side via Pipili – Satyabadi – Chandanpur – Malatipatapur – Malatipatapur ROB – Baidas Nagar – Grid Station. Vehicles will be parked sequentially at the following designated parking areas: Bhudan Parking, OLA Guest House Parking, Helipad Parking, ITI College Parking, Near Central School Parking, Indoor Stadium Parking, Horticulture Field Parking, Hygienic Fish Market Parking.
The return route will be via Central School – Bhudan Chhak – Balighat Chhak – Samagara Chhak – Batagaon. After the above parking areas are filled, LMVs from the Bhubaneswar side will be allowed to the Shreesetu designated parking area, via Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Shreesetu.
After filled up Shreesetu parking, vehicles will be diverted to the designated parking areas at Sterling Chhak via Mangalaghat – Omkareshwar Temple – Sterling Chhak. The return route will remain the same.
After all the above parking areas are filled, all LMVs will be diverted to Samarga Parking via Malatipatapur – Batagaon – Mangalaghat. The return route will be via near Shreesetu Road.
All LMV coming from Konark side will be allowed upto parking places at Talabania side, sequentially at the designated parking areas: Bhudan Parking – OLA Guest House Parking – Helipad Parking – ITI College Parking – Near Central School Parking – Indoor Stadium Parking – Horticulture Field Parking – Hygienic Fish Market Parking via Balighai – Baidas Nagar – Grid Station.
Return – Talabania Bus Stand – Central School – Bhudan – Grid Station – Baidas Nagar – Balighai.
