MCL to spend Rs 15.63 Cr for infra upgrade in 51 schools of Jharsuguda


Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has taken a significant step towards improving the quality of education in Jharsuguda district, Odisha, with CSR expenditure of Rs 15.63 crore for the infrastructure upgrade of 51 elementary schools.

This initiative aims to enhance the learning environment and provide better facilities for both students and teachers.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this transformative project was signed between the Jharsuguda district administration and MCL under which key areas of development include the construction of new classrooms, improved sanitation facilities, and the provision of other essential educational amenities to create a more conducive learning environment.

The project is set to be completed within a year. It will directly benefit over 5,000 students and 200 teachers and staff members in three municipalities within the district.

This initiative reflects MCL’s commitment to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals, which aim to uplift local communities and contribute to their overall development.
