Bhubaneswar: A day-long workshop on managing stress was organised by the Institute of Business and Computer Studies (IBCS), faculty of management sciences of SOA Deemed to be University here, on Saturday.
The workshop on ‘Managing Stress for Mental Wellness’ was graced by Dr. Jashobanta Mahapatra, Clinical Psychologist at the S.C.B. Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, who conducted an insightful session on understanding, identifying and managing stress. Dr. Mahapatra highlighted the key techniques to manage stress which included changing one’s way of thinking, behavior and lifestyle.
He elaborated on the STOP technique saying one must stop, take a step back, observe mindfully and then proceed for effective stress management.
The inaugural session of the workshop was attended by Prof. Bibhuti Bhushan Pradhan, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Registrar of SOA, Prof. Ayasa Kanta Mohanty, Dean of IBCS, Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare), Prof. Manoranjan Dash, Associate Dean of the Institution and Dr. Ganesh Prasad Das, Associate Professor.
The valedictory session of the program was graced by Prof. Anup Kumar Samantaray, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the university, who felicitated the participants.
