Bhubaneswar: Prof. (Dr.) Neeta Mohanty, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research Collaboration) of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here has been awarded the prestigious Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of dental education, research, innovation and public health.
The 425-year-old Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow is a global community of healthcare professionals committed to improving patient care through education and innovation.
Prof. (Dr.) Mohanty, who was Dean of SOA’s Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS) for over a decade, exemplified transformative leadership in oral health and dental education.
Her academic career, spanning more than 28 years, was dedicated to shaping future dental professionals with a commitment to impactful dental research and institutional governance.
She has more than one hundred peer reviewed publications to her credit including in high impact factor internationally acclaimed journals, books and book chapters, granted United States and Indian patents backed by government grants.
Prof. (Dr.) Mohanty is the Director of Cochrane India Affiliate Center at IDS and is also the founder of Orease Oral Care Solutions Private Limited, a start-up focused on innovative solutions in oral care.
Prof. (Dr.) Mohanty was also conferred with fellowship by the Academy of Dentistry International, USA, in recognition of her worthy contributions to the advancement of dentistry worldwide in 2018.
She is also the recipient of numerous awards including Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam National Award, Best Dental Administrator Award and Times Power Woman Award.
