Bhubaneswar: Under the Higher Education Department, the academic session 2025–26 has officially commenced for the first-year students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across government colleges and universities in Odisha.
As per the academic calendar issued by the Higher Education Department, classes for newly admitted students (for 1st Year UG and PG courses) have started from 10th July, 2025.
Till the end of the third round of the Phase-I admission process, a total of 1,60,255 students have enrolled in undergraduate courses. 18,428 students have taken admission in postgraduate courses.
The Phase-I spot admission process for undergraduate programmes will conclude on 16th July, 2025, while the final phase of postgraduate admissions will be completed by 25th July, 2025.
Keeping in view the academic interests and future of students, the Higher Education Department had taken the decision to initiate the admission process early, ensuring that classes begin on time in the 2025–26 academic session. As a result, both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have commenced on schedule, which will allow for timely examinations and publication of results, ultimately benefiting the students.
