CUO organizes Yoga Day in its campus


Koraput: The Central University of Odisha organized the International Day of Yoga in its campus at Sunabeda, Koraput district.

The Yoga Day celebration was flagged off by Prof N C Panda, Vice Chancellor.

Prof Panda highlighted the eminent position of Yoga in the Indian living traditions by citing verses from ancient philosophical texts.

Prof Panda hailed the Prime Minister of India for putting the Indian Yogic Traditions on world stage through the declaration of the International Day of Yoga by the United Nations.

He also expressed gratitude to Ministry of Education for the observation in educational institutions across country which inspires the youth to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

Prof Panda called upon the University community to practice yoga regularly for a healthy life.
The attendees engaged in a live yoga session and practiced various kinds of Asanas.

The session was conducted by an expert yoga trainer team comprising Biswaranjan Kanungo, HAL, Sunabeda, Surendra Mahato, NALCO, Damanjodi. Both trainers have more than a decade experience on classical yoga and are associated with the Art of Living.
HoDs, Faculty Members, Staff and Research Scholars attended the programme and took pledge to integrate yoga in daily life.
