Bhubaneswar Traffic Update: Key roads to be restricted for Independence Day Parade

Bhubaneswar: Traffic movement on several key roads in capital city Bhubaneswar will be restricted or diverted in connection with the observance of State Level Independence Day Parade-2026, informed traffic police.

Traffic advisory has been issued in connection.

In a public notice the Traffic DCP informed, on the eve of State Level Independence Day Parade – 2026, and during its rehearsal and full dress rehearsal, the following traffic restriction or diversion will be effective on the Mahatma Gandhi Marg and its periphery on 11th & 12th August, 2026 from 2.30 PM to 6 PM and on 13th August, 2026 from 8.30 AM to 11.30 AM and on 15th August, 2026 from 6 AM onwards till the completion of Parade / function.

1. No heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply towards Master Canteen Square either from Ram Mandir side or from Rajmahal side.
2. Two wheelers and light motor vehicles will be allowed from Rajmahal side towards Ram Mandir side through Master Canteen Square only. Vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards PMG Square from Master Canteen Square till the completion of parade / event.
3. No vehicles will be allowed to proceed towards Rabindra Mandap side from Housing Board side and those vehicles shall be diverted at Keshari talkies crossing.
4. No vehicle will be allowed to move towards PMG square from AG square and those vehicles shall be diverted at Jaydev Bhawan Sqr. towards IDCOL auditorium side.
5. All kinds of vehicles coming from 120 Bn. Square side shall be diverted towards Unit-IV at MLA colony crossing.
6. All the lanes touching Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be sealed and only pedestrian shall be allowed to proceed towards Mahatma Gandhi Marg.

8. Open space in front of Congress Bhawan.
9. Open space in front of IDCOL Auditorium.
10. Open space in front of Jaydev Bhawan.
11. Open space in front of SBI in Unit-III.
12. Open space inside Rabindra Mandap.
13. Unit-III Girls’ High School Ground.
