Odisha BSE declares time schedule for HSC exam

BHUBANESWAR: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha on Tuesday announced the examination schedule of annual High School Certificate examination (HSC Exam) which will begin on February 22 next year.

The HSC exam conducted by BSE would begin from February 22 and end on March 4.

BSE president Dakshya Prasad Nanda said the Board had prepared the database of the students who had filled up their form for the annual examinations.

A record number of 6, 01, 389 students would take the Matriculation Examination-2016. While 5, 63, 220 students are regular students, 26, 023 students are ex-regular students. Last year, 5, 93, 112 students had appeared the annual examination.

Notably, the Board has introduced online filling up of the annual HSC exam forms for the first time in the state. The online process began from October 28 and ended on November 5 midnight.

The Board has decided to increase the remuneration of the invigilators from Rs 15 to Rs 25 per sitting, sources said.

“The Descriptive Roll (DR) sheet of these students will be available in this link from November 24 to 30. We have requested the headmasters to collect the DR sheets of Regular and Ex-Regular students and submit a set of DR sheet along with the pay-in-slip copy of the Board in the office of the Board’s regional office by December 1,” said Nanda.

If there is any error in the DR sheet, the concerned headmaster of the school should immediately contact the regional office or the headquarters of the Board and get it rectified. Besides, we have also asked the headmasters to submit a list of ex-regular students who will appear in the compartmental examinations”, Nanda informed.

Board this year has introduced State Institute of Open School (SIOS) for school drop-out students to give them an opportunity to clear the HSC exam. The students who have discontinued their education after seventh class would be eligible to appear for the examination under SIOS system.
