Odisha assembly adjourned sine die

BHUBANESWAR: As expected, Odisha Assembly was on Wednesday adjourned sine die with eight working days remaining.

Speaker Niranjan Pujari adjourned the house sine die.The winter session which started on December 1 was slated to continue till December 26.

The speaker took the decision to adjourn the house when both Congress and BJP opposition members had been on a boycott mode since Tuesday in the wake of the week-long suspension of Congress MLA Naba Kishore Das on porngate controversy.

Naba Das was caught on camera while allegedly watching a pornographic video on his smartphone while the house was in session on Monday.

The opposition has termed such a ruling as undemocratic since Das was not given a chance to keep his stand and even without waiting for the Ethics Committee’s probe report.
