Wipro chief Premji assures to expand its Bhubaneswar centre with larger facilities

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday proposed Wipro chief Azim Premji to invest in various sectors including setting up a Global Training Centre at Puri- Konark Marine Drive for which land has been identified.

Patnaik said Wipro might consider setting up its second campus at Info Valley where it can be allotted land.

The Chief Minister also proposed Wipro to be a partner in the setting up of another IIIT, which will be established at an investment of Rs 128 crore in PPP mode.

He also proposed the IT behemoth to take the initiative to make Bhubaneswar the hub of Eastern India for IT and consulting activities.

Proposing Wipro’s GE Healthcare to consider setting up its healthcare facilities in Odisha, the Chief Minister requested Premji to consider for the opening of the second campus of Azim Premji University in Odisha and play a significant role in the education sector of Odisha by setting up model schools.

Premji said that his company would soon expand its Bhubaneswar centre with larger facilities.

He also assured to consider investment in the healthcare sector in Odisha.
