New CHSE Text Books by May


BHUBANESWAR: Good News, Plus Two students in Odisha will get the new books with changed syllabuses by May this year, said Gitika Patnaik, Director, Odisha State Bureau of Text Book Preparation and Production, here on Sunday.

The academic council committee of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) on November last year had approved the new syllabus for plus two courses in the line of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).  The new syllabi are aimed to help Odia students fare better in various competitive and national level entrance exams like JEE, CAT, MAT, XAT and other competitive jobs.  The new course will be implemented from 2016-17 academic session.CHSE-Odisha

“We have received the approved syllabus recommended by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) and started the work for publication of books. We have called up the concerned authors of the concerned subjects to check out for corrections, additions and deletions of any part of their manuscripts,” Patnaik said.

However, providing the new books on time would be a challenge for the Bureau, She added.

“We have asked the Text Book Bureau for publication of new Plus Two textbooks prepared on the pattern of the syllabuses of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). I hope the Bureau would provide the books to the students by May this year,” said Higher Education Minister Pradip Panigrahi.
