BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to promote tourism potential of the state and attract more tourists from Varanasi, Odisha Tourism organised a road show in the spiritual city of Varanasi on Wednesday.
The main objective of the road show was to give a boost to tourist traffic from Varanasi to Odisha given the recent introduction of Air India connectivity between the two cities of Varanasi and Bhubaneswar.
Tourism Minister Ashok Chandra Panda addressing the media emphasised to boost the cultural link between the two states.
While elaborating the tourism products of the state, the Minister appealed the media to give maximum coverage about Odisha.
As a huge number of Buddhist tourists is visiting Varanasi, Sarnath and other destinations, he added.
He also urged the media and tour operator to highlight the Buddhist Circuit of Odisha.
He also requested the tour operators and travel agents to include Odisha (Ratnagiri-Lalitgiri-Udayagiri-Langudi-Dhauli-Puri-Bhubaneswar, etc.) in their travel plan and itinerary.
S. K. Pattnaik, Assistant Director, Odisha Tourism and Dr R. K. Pattanayak made a presentation on Odisha’s tourism potential.
