Court allows Dhalsamant brothers’ 7-day remand; two associates nabbed


CUTTACK: The Commissionerate Police has arrested two associates of Dhalsamant brothers while a local court on Monday granted the police to take the two criminal brothers on seven days remand for further interrogation.

Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora said Ramachandra Das and Bharat Bhushan Swain, two associates of Dhalasamant brothers, have been arrested for their alleged involvement in several criminal cases.Dhalsamant brothers

Cuttack police also seized four guns, 160 rounds of bullets and Rs 12.44 lakh from their possession.

Police sources said a total six associates of Dhalsamant brothers have been detained and are being quizzed by cops in Cuttack.

Meanwhile, the SDJM court of Cuttack allowed the Commissionerate Police to take the Dhalsamant brothers on seven days remand against the ten days remand sought by police.

Police sources said they would be interrogated about their criminal activities in the state and other states besides their political link.

The two brothers- Sushant Dhalasamant and Sushil Dhalasamant- were arrested by Commissionerate Police on charges of murder, extortion and tender fixing.
