BARGARH: The Odisha BJP has selected a venue of 56 acres area adjacent to Bargarh town in western Odisha to hold the farmers’ convention to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and national BJP president Amit Shah on February 21.
The reason behind selecting 56 acres is that of Modi’s election speech regarding 56-inch courageous chest to rule the country, said a senior party leader of BJP Sureswar Satapathy.
“56-inch Chest, and 56 acres meeting venue; both bear equal importance for the country that has witnessed miraculous changes just within 22 months of NDA government,” Satapathy said.
Meanwhile, the Bargarh town is flooded with party flags, posters, banners and hoardings of Prime Minister, Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan and Jual Oram.
The party expects that about one lakh farmers from the state and neighbouring states would attend the rally, where
Modi will interact with farmers and highlight the initiatives being taken by the union government.
The party is also sending voice messages through mobile phones to people inviting to attend the mass rally.
A control room, of the party, is also working day in, day out for smooth completion of the PM’s visit.
Meanwhile, the Odisha police have made elaborate security arrangement for the smooth conduct of the farmers’ convention.
While the DGP K B Singh visited the spot to review the security arrangements, DIG (NR) Prateek Kumar Mohanty is also taking stock of the situation. Seven SPs and senior officers from the police headquarters are also monitoring the security arrangements in collaboration with their counterparts from the centre.
