Naveen unveils Biju Centenary Logo

BHUBANESWAR: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday unveiled the logo for the year-long celebration of former chief minister Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary at the state and national levels beginning from March 5.

The ruling party has formed five committees for preparation and oversees the year-long celebration of the birth centenary of the legendary leader.

The five committees are Biju Patnaik Birth Centenary Committee, Organising Committee, Coordination Committee, Souvenir and Documentation Committee and National and International Coordination Committee.

Senior MLA Ved Prakash Agrawal has been nominated as the convenor of the centenary committee while Dhenkanal MP Tathagata Satpathy has been named as the convenor of the Coordination Committee.

Tourism Minister Ashok Panda has been named convenor of the Souvenir and Documentation Committee while School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra is the convenor of National and International Coordination Committee. Surya Narayan Patra has been nominated as convenor of the Organising Committee.

The Biju Patnaik Birth Centerary Committee has senior leaders like V Sugnana Kumari Deo, Surendranath Nayak, Dr Damodar Rout, Dhaneswar Majhi, AU Singhdeo, Mangala Kisan, Prasanna Acharya, Dr Prasanna Patsani, Padmanabha Behera, Prafulla Samal, Jayram Pangi, Pramila Mallik and Amar Satpathy as its members.
