Dhenkanal Boat Capsize Incident: Six Bodies recovered


DHENKANAL: All the six bodies have been recovered from Brahmani river in the boat capsize incident in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.

The ODRAF and fire brigade teams on Wednesday recovered two bodies-Kalian Mohanty and Babina Rout-at two different places. Earlier, the bodies of four persons had been rescued. Dhenkanal Boat Capsize Incident

The Denkanal district collector has submitted primary inquiry report to Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra.

The police are now searching for the boatman of the ill-fated boat; the SRC told reporters at Bhubaneswar.
The district administration has submitted Rs 4 lakh each to the deceased families.

Notably, at least 30-35 passengers were on their way to Goudeswar Mahadev temple on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri on a boat which accidentally capsized at Mandar Ghat in Brahmani river.

The devotees were on their way from Chandipal village of Bhuban block to Goudeswar Mahadev temple, sources said.
