PURI: The repair of Jagmohan chamber of Jagannath temple in Puri cannot be delayed further as it is in a dilapidated state, feels archaeological experts.
A former professor of IIT Kharagpur AP Gupta, who is also the core committee head to see the repair work of Sri Mandir, on Monday carried out a detail inspection of the sanctum sanctorum along with several officials including the superintendent archaeologist of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
“I have examined the place, and we are going to take steps to strengthen the columns to the maximum possible extent to see it that the beams do not collapse. We will take a final call on these issues,” said Gupta.
