KORAPUT: The Department of Teacher Education of Central University of Odisha organised a seminar lecture on the topic “Digital India: Integration of Technology with Pedagogy” on Friday at the main campus of the University at Sunabeda.
The programme was inaugurated by the vice-chancellor of the University Prof. Sachidananda Mohanty while the lecture was delivered by Prof. Dhaneswar Harichandan, IDOL, Dept. of Education, University of Mumbai.
Mohanty mentioned that technology is a facilitating tool for education.
Harichandan highlighted that with the new initiatives teacher’s role has changed from creating content, coming to class and delivering the content to mentoring and facilitating learning.
“Effective integration of technology is achieved when students are able to select technology tools to help them obtain information in a timely manner, analyse and synthesise the information, and present it professionally. The technology should become an integral part of how the classroom functions — as accessible as all other classroom tools” he said while delivering the seminar lecture on the topic.
Dr Ramendra Kumar Parhi, HoD of Dept. of Teacher Education, highlighted that Department of Teacher Education is vibrant in organising various extension activities like community study, internship activities for trainee teachers and other community-related activities.
