Over 25 Killed After Bus Falls Off In Odisha’s Deogarh

BHUBANESWAR: As many as 25 were killed after a bus carrying over 40 artists of Bharati Gananatya fell off Tilaebani Gaelo ghat in Odisha’s Deogarh district on Sunday.

Deogarh SP Sarah Sharma said 25 people have feared dead after the bus fell off the ghat into a gorge of about 300 feet in the evening. There were women and also children in the bus.

She said the death toll could go up as rescue operation is going on.

One Orissa Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team has been sent to the accident location. If needed, one more team will be sent, said DGP K.B Singh.

8 Fire service team has also been deployed at the site to aid in rescue work, said Fire Services DG Binay Behera.

11 persons have been rescued and admitted to Deogarh district headquarters hospital in critical condition.

However, rescue operation has got hampered due to poor visibility.
