BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Congress workers on Tuesday entered into a scuffle with police at PMG square here while they were marching towards state assembly demanding the resignation of food supplies and consumer welfare minister Sanjay Dasburma for his alleged involvement in the chit fund scam.
Hundreds of Congress workers took out a rally from the Congress Bhawan and marched towards the state assembly. However, they were halted by security personnel deployed at PMG square leading to a scuffle with them.
Later, the Congress leaders held a demonstration demanding scalp of Dasburma.
Pradesh Congress president Prasad Harichandan said the CBI inquiring into the chit fund scam is protecting the tainted minister as BJD and BJP have forged a secret deal to bail out each other.
He demanded the ouster of Sanjay Dasburma and action against the BJD leaders involved in the chit fund scam.
Several senior party leaders participated in the rally, what they called ‘Rana Hunkar’.
