Infocity Police Station Eyes ISO Certification

BHUBANESWAR: The commissionerate police are taking steps to obtain the prestigious ISO 9001 certification for Infocity police station in the capital city of Odisha.

If the police station gets the certification, it will be the second such police station in the state. Damanjodi police station in Koraput district is the only one in the state to have got the prestigious ISO certification.

Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania has asked officials of Infocity police station to work diligently to ensure it meets all the criteria needed for the certification.

Manoj Kumar Samant, inspector in-charge of the police station said there is need to bring down the number of pending cases to 50 to receive the ISO 9001 certification.

“We are working hard to become the second police station in the state and the first under the commissionerate police to accomplish this prestigious benchmark,” said Samant.

ISO certification is given by International Certification Services on the basis of a number of parameters like the response of a police station to the needs of the public, its reception of visitors, the number of officials facing no allegations of misdeeds and the number of pending cases, among others.
