Odisha Vigilance Detects Crorepati Engineer


BHUBANESWAR: The vigilance sleuths on Tuesday detected Rs 1.19 crore properties of one assistant engineer in Odisha.

The sleuths conducted raids at several locations including the residence of Shyamsundar Majhi, assistant engineer, Rairakhol Block in Sambalpur on the allegation of acquisition and possession of disproportionate assets.

The vigilance officials carried out simultaneous searches at his residential house at Anguliapada, Sambalpur Town, the paternal house at Kumarbandha in Jharsuguda, father-in-law’s house at Mundagaon in Sundargarh and office room at  Rairakhol in Sambalpur.

During the search, three plots at Ainthapali, Sambalpur, one double storied RCC Building at Ainthapali, Sambalpur and one single storied  RCC building with Asbestos at Kumarbandha, Jharsuguda were detected besides ornaments and vehicles.

The vigilance officials have calculated the movable and immovable properties about Rs 1.19 crore belonging to the engineers and his family.
