Prasanna Acharya, Bishnu Das, Bhaskar Rao Elected To Rajya Sabha

BHUBANESWAR: Senior BJD leaders Prasanna Acharya, Bishnu Das and N Bhaskar Rao on Friday elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha.

Returning officer, AK Sarangi said three BJD nominees were elected to Rajya Sabha unopposed as the nomination papers of the trio were found valid during scrutiny. The nomination papers of three others were rejected on June 1.

The election was supposed to be held for three Rajya Sabha seats on June 11.

The opposition Congress and BJP did not field any candidate against the BJD nominees since they don’t have the required number to elect a candidate.
