Odisha Govt Clears Rs 1002 Cr Investment Proposal


BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government on Tuesday approved two projects with an investment of Rs 1002 crore.

The Single Window Clearance Authority (SWCA) chaired by chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi cleared the two projects of BMW Industries Limited (BMWIL) and LL Logistics Pvt Ltd.

Both the projects are likely to generate employment for about 1,062 people in the state, said Industry secretary Sanjib Chopra.

The SWCA cleared a proposal of BMW Industries Limited (BMWIL) to set up a steel processing unit at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district with an investment of Rs 900 crore.

It would generate direct employment for 602 people, said Chopra.

The company has proposed to set up the project over 100 acres of land to produce black steel tubes, colour coated steel sheets and galvanised steel tubes.

Besides, the authority approved Chhattisgarh-based LL Logistics Pvt Ltd’s project which has proposed to set up a logistics park at Indranipatna near Choudwar in Cuttack district.

The company will invest Rs 102 crore while it would employ 460 people in its unit, Chopra said.

He also added that the company would set up a warehouse, container facilities and cold storage on 70 acres of land.

Among others, development commissioner R. Balkrishnan and other officials were present during the SWCA meeting.
