Thousands Participated Marking International Yoga Day In Odisha


BHUBANESWAR: Thousands of people participated in various yoga and meditation centres across Odisha marking the second International Yoga Day on Tuesday.

They performed yoga and other exercises under the supervision of yoga gurus.

While Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan participated at a yoga session in Bhubaneswar, Tribal Affairs Minister participated in Rajgangpur in Sundargarh district.

However, the ministers of Naveen Patnaik-led BJD government preferred to stay away from the events.

The Health department of Odisha government is organising a programme to celebrate the day to be attended by Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.

Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand art on Surya Namaskar with message “yoga for peace and harmony” at Puri beach.

Sand artist Manas Sahoo also created a sand art to mark the second International Yoga Day.
