They were sent to jail custody after being produced before the magistrate on Friday.
According to reports, Dashmahapatra, a senior Daitapati, along with his son-in-law Nabakrushna Prusty had gone to the DHH to treat his granddaughter at about 10.40 pm. The doctor in the casualty Kshiroda Chandra Pal examined the child and advised to admit her.
The doctor asked the accompanying persons to bring an outdoor ticket to enter her admission in the register. The incident annoyed Dasmahapatra, and he demanded the chief district medical officer be summoned and demanded his phone number, said sources.

All the medicos and staff present in the DHH went on strike protesting the assault. Kumbharpara police were informed of the incident.
The chief district medical officer (CDMO) JK Samantray intervened and assured legal action. The agitating medicos called off the strike. It is learnt that the injured doctor has been shifted to SCB college and hospital for treatment.
After examining the CCTV footage, police registered a criminal case and arrested the duo under 341, 323, 325, 332, 353, 307 and 34 sections of IPC.
On Friday, they were presented in the court of sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) Priyaranjan Barik. The judge rejected their bail plea and remanded them to the jail custody for fourteen days.
