Odisha CM Felicitates OMC ‘Super 30’

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday felicitated the successful students in JEE-Advance for the academic session 2016 and congratulated Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) for the introduction of the ‘Super 30’ concept.

He said the ‘Super-30’ is a unique platform which facilitates students from the economically backwards families of the state to equip themselves through proper coaching and orientation to compete with other students in the country.

“I am happy that out of 60 such brilliant students, who have been given coaching, 52 have cleared JEE mains and out of them 24 have cleared advance JEE and are eligible to take admission in the Premier Institutes,” said the Chief Minister.

He said this novel initiative by OMC would create a talent pool for the global requirement.

He further pointed out that the government had taken a historic step by announcing Kalinga Sikshya Sathi Yojana — a scheme to provide education loan at one percent interest for the students of lower and middle-class families to pursue higher education in different disciplines.

He said the government would also establish model schools in all 314 blocks of the state.
