BHUBANESWAR: Nandini Real Infra, which has proposed to set up a Steel/BF Slag Recycling unit at Kalinga Industrial Estate in Odisha’s Jajpur, is interested in having a long term tie up with Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL).
“As the raw material sourcing, we are interested in having a long term tie up with NINL so that all their generated waste slag can be used by us with a Value Added Product to road construction,” said Kishan Agarwal, director of the company in a letter to the government.
Nandini Real Infra has proposed to set up the Steel/BF Slag Recycling unit with an annual capacity of 4.51 lakh mt with an investment of Rs 55.07 crore. The project has been approved by state-level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA).
The downstream industry has requested the state government to advise NINL management to supply Steel Slag at mutually agreed terms on a long-term agreement for raw material sourcing.
Nandini Real Infra needs around 40 to 50 thousand mt per month of Steel/ BF Slag as the raw material for the plant.
NINL located at Kalinga Nagar Industrial Estate generates about 15000 mt of Steel Slag per month which Is remaining accumulated for years together.
“Now since the government is giving more importance for downstream industries mainly for waste recycling units, we hope our proposal would be considered on priority,” said Agarwal.
