Nagada Death: BJP Submits Memo To Governor


BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha BJP on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir over the death of 19 children due to malnutrition in Nagada village in Jajpur district.

A delegation led by party president Basant Panda apprised the Governor about the alarming situation in the village and adjoining areas.

“The death of the children due to malnutrition shows the failure of state machinery to provide basic amenities to the people in the area. It has also exposed the tall claim of the government that his government is meant for development,” said Panda.

He said the Governor has assured to take necessary steps to deal with the situation.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said a taskforce has been formed to look into the matter. He also assured that his government would ensure that Nagada type situation would not repeat in future.
