Former IAS Officer Gets 3-year Jail Term In Graft Case In Odisha


Bhubaneswar: A special vigilance court on Thursday awarded three-year jail term to former IAS officer Himanshu Sekhar Samantray for amassing huge properties disproportionate to his known source of income.

The court also slapped Rs 20 lakh fine on Samantray.

In 2008, the vigilance sleuths had raided residential and office premises of IAS officer Himanshu Sekhar Samantray on the allegation of amassing huge properties disproportionate to his known source of income.

He was then posted as managing director of the state-owned Orissa Lift Irrigation Corporation.
