Odisha Govt Plans Food Parks In 6 Districts


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is planning to set up food parks in six districts, said an official on Saturday.

The food parks would be established in Ganjam, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Puri, Jharsuguda and Bargarh.

Odisha Small Industries Corporation Ltd (OSIC) has been asked to take steps for finalizing proposal for setting up mega food parks in Bargarh and Jharsuguda districts, said the official of MSME department.

He said Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) would be asked to promote medium food parks in the remaining districts.

The state government is in the process of identifying 20 locations for development of mega food parks in the state.

The state government has implemented Odisha Food Processing Policy -2013. It also encourages the development of mega food parks in the state. It gives incentives to the investors for setting up the units in the state.
