Odisha Tourism Plans Roadshows Overseas

Bhubaneswar: To attract more tourists to Odisha, the Tourism department has decided to hold 27 roadshows during the current financial year at national and international levels, which is a massive increase from 10 in the last fiscal.

Odisha Tourism has decided to organize five roadshows at the international arena starting September 22. It will hold 11 roadshows at the national level, and the rest will be domestic roadshows.

“To increase the footfalls of both foreign and domestic tourists in the state, we have decided to increase the number of road shows held. During the roadshows, we will project the culture and tradition of the state,” said Tourism Director Nitin Jawale.

The first international roadshow will be held from September 22 to 25 in Jata, Japan; while the second will take place on October 19 in Singapore and the third from November 7 in London.

The fourth show will be held on January 22, 2017, in Fitur, Spain, and the last show will begin on March 9 next year in Berlin.

“Through international roadshows, we will showcase the tourism potential of Odisha at the international arena,” added Jawale.

In July this year, the tourism department organized national roadshows in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Chennai. One such event was held in Bangalore in August.

New Delhi, Ahmadabad, Mumbai, and Goa are some of the places where the next national roadshows will be held beginning this month and continuing well into March 2017.
