Odisha Govt Reduces 1% Stamp Duty For Women During Land Registration


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday reduced stamp duty to 4% from current 5% for registration of land and house in the name of women in the state.

The state government took the decision as per the Odisha State Policy For Girl and Woman 2014.

It will help for the economic protection and empowerment of women in the state, said a release.

It further said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has taken several initiatives for the empowerment of women in the state.

The state government has made 50% reservation for women in Panchayat elections, it added.
