Bhubaneswar: Moments after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes would not be valid from Tuesday midnight, people across Odisha were seen queued up in front of ATMs to withdraw money.

The worried people are seen making beeline at the ATM counters across the state to withdraw money as the ATM counters would be closed for November 9 and 10. The banks will remain close on November 9.
The people are also queued up at the counters, where deposit facility is available, to deposit old notes.
However, people were seen more worried after they get Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes from the ATMs, which would be invalid from the midnight.
Meanwhile, heavy rush was witnessed at the petrol pumps. Chaos in filling stations was seen as the pump agents refused to accept Rs 500 notes.
Among the announcements, the cash points would be shut for two consecutive days from tomorrow at some parts of the country. Besides, cash withdrawal limits have been restricted to Rs 2000 per day till Friday.
