Railway Minister Rajen Gohain to visit Odisha


Bhubaneswar: Rajen Gohain, minister of state for Railways, will visit Odisha on Wednesday.

During his visit, Gohain is expected to review the performance of East Coast Railway and the progress of various infrastructure related projects which are crucial to the industrial development of Odisha and Northern Andhra Pradesh.

Gohain has always laid highest emphasis on passenger amenities at Stations and onboard services on trains.  He gives importance to local aspirations and needs of various regions with a focus on connecting unconnected regions, said a release.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu had earlier visited this region just before Nabakalebar 2015 and again in April 2016. During his visit, Prabhu had launched vital projects in this region.

Prabhu had also advised for speedy completion of pending Railway Projects like Khurda-Balangir line.  He had taken special interest and made it clear that funds would not be an issue for any Railway Project in Odisha.

Minister of state for Railways Manoj Sinha also visited ECoR and reviewed the performance of East Coast Railway and based on the feedback he received from East Coast Region, a number of positive policy measures were immediately initiated by Ministry of Railways.
