Bolangir: A carcass of a male Royal Bengal tiger was found inside a forest near Chaulamunda village on Bolangir-Nuapada border on Wednesday, said a forest official.
Getting information about the death of the tiger from local people, the officials of Forest department rushed the spot and took the carcass for post mortem.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Bolangir, Rashmi Ranjan Nayak, said “We got the information about the carcass of a male Royal Bengal tiger inside the forest under Jhalialiti Forest Beat House of Lathor Forest Range. The post mortem of the carcass will be conducted tomorrow. Besides, we will probe into the cause of the death of the big cat.”
It is suspected that the tiger has been killed by some poachers.
