Bhubaneswar, Odisha: The Odisha unit of BJP is confident that the visit of its national president Amit Shah would boost its panchayat poll prospects in the state.

The party leaders on Friday apprised Amit Shah about the poll strategy for the panchayat polls scheduled to be held in February this year. Shah schooled the party workers on how to fight the panchayat polls and increase the winning prospects of the party candidates.

The BJP national president arrived in Bhubaneswar to attend a program of Maa Bimala Temple in Puri’s Gobardhan Peetha.

Union Tribal Affairs minister Jual Oram said Shah was apprised of the changed political situation in the state.

“He asked the karyakartas to work hard to get the desired results in the ensuing panchayat polls. We too hope that the election results will be on our expected lines. Amitji’s suggestion will be helpful for the party activists,” said Oram.

“The national BJP president was apprised about the game plan for the panchayat polls. We held a detailed discussion of the issues on which the elections would be fought. The visit and advice of Amit Shah would definitely boost the moral spirit of workers in the state,” said senior BJP leader and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

While the BJP workers are in a jubilant mode with the visit of Amit Shah, the ruling BJD said the visit will have no impact on the people of Odisha as they are always with the regional party.
