Arrested TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhaya admitted to SCB

Bhubaneswar (Odisha): Arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sudip Bandopadhaya has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after he complained of chest pain during his stay at the Jharpada Special Jail here.

Police first took Sudip to Capital Hospital on Friday. They later shifted him to SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Notably, Police had arrested Sudip in connection with his involvement in Rs 17,000 crore Rose Valley chit fund scam.

Sudip, who has been lodged at the Special jail, continued to stay at the jail hospital since January 12 along with another TMC MP Tapas Pal.

Sudip Bandopadhyaya was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days from January 12 as his bail petition was rejected by the CBI designated court here.

The CBI had arrested the four-time Lok Sabha member from Kolkata on January 3 in connection with the Rose Valley scam.
