Sex racket busted in Bhubaneswar, three girls rescued

Bhubaneswar (Odisha): The commissionerate police on Sunday raided a house at Girish Vihar area in Shampur and rescued three women who were allegedly involved in flesh trade.

Acting on a tip-off, the Khandagiri police conducted a raid at the house and rescued three women, all natives of Kandhamal.

“We have sent the three women, all above 20 years of age, to a rehab center in the city and have launched a search operation to nab the miscreants involved in the alleged flesh trade,” they added.

However, police sources said the cops have detained a woman who had lured the three girls to the capital city on the pretext of providing them jobs here.

“We are inquiring into the incident. Prima facie, it is found that the girls were lured by a woman, who also belongs to the Kandhamal district,” said police.
