Odia IPS officer Amulya Kumar Patnaik appointed as Delhi Police Commissioner

New Delhi: IPS officer Amulya Kumar Patnaik, who hails from Odisha, has been appointed as the next Commissioner of Delhi Police, a Home Ministry notification said on Monday.

The Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre 1985-batch IPS officer will succeed Alok Kumar Verma who was made the CBI chief earlier this month.

Patnaik was serving as the Special Commissioner (General Administration) in Delhi Police.
