Odisha HSC exam: Six caught impersonating, 94 for malpractice

Cuttack: As many as six candidates were found impersonating and 94 students were caught for malpractice during the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination that began across Odisha on Tuesday.

The six fake examinees were caught in Mahatab High School at Pallahara village in Angul district, said the Board of Secondary Education (BSE).

On the first day, a total of 6, 8,690 students appeared for the first language (MIL) exam at 2,938 examination centers across the state from 9 am to 11.30 am.

The BSE had made three-tier security arrangements to monitor and check malpractice during the examination. It has set up 295 nodal centers. Out of 295, there are 27 nodal centers in all the Maoists affected districts.

The exams would conclude on March 10.
