Plus Two exam begins in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The annual Plus Two theory examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) began across Odisha on Monday.

As many as 3, 80,707 students of 1,504 colleges in Science, Arts, Commerce and Vocational streams are appearing the Plus Two exam at 1,106 centers in the state.

While there are 90,990 examinees in Science stream, 28,481 candidates are writing the exam in the Commerce stream. Similarly, 2, 43,106 examinees are appearing the test in arts stream and 18,123 students in the Vocational stream, said CHSE sources.

The School and Mass Education department is conducting the exam after Plus Two was separated from the Higher Education.

The CHSE has appointed observers to check malpractice in several centres. They will remain at the centres till the completion of the examination. Besides, special observers will make surprise visits to the centres.

Moreover, heavy security arrangements with CCTV cameras have been put in place in all the 202 examination hubs.

The CHSE has issued a 24-hour control room phone number 0674-2303803 to provide information related to the examination to parents and all concerned.

The Exam that began with English will end with integrated vocational subjects on March 28.

Earlier the practical exams were held between January 27 and February 3.
