Fresh probe begins into death of farmer in Bargarh

Bhubaneswar: Following an outcry over the false death report of a farmer in Odisha’s Bargarh district, District Collector and the Superintendent of Police (SP) visited Kendpali village of the deceased to conduct a fresh joint probe into the case on Thursday.

District Collector Anjan Kumar Manik and SP Jugal Kishore Kumar Banoth visited the village and met the kin of the deceased farmer and questioned some villagers as part of their probe.

As pert the direction of the state government, we conducted a fresh probe into the suicide of the farmer and will submit a report to the Home Department, Agriculture Department and Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) within next two days.

Besides, they visited the agricultural field where Hadu had grown the crops by borrowing loans.

The District Collector told the media persons that they conducted a fresh probe and would submit a report on the matter within following two days.
