Odisha BJP’s executive meeting begins


Baripada: With an eye on the 2019 assembly polls in Odisha, the Odisha unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday began its two-day state executive meeting at Baripada here.

The party aimed at strengthening its organisational base in the state ahead of the 2019 elections.

The state leaders have assembled after the grand success of BJP’s national executive meeting attended by party’s top leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bhubaneswar.

The party would prepare a road map to further strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level.-state BJP in-charge Arun Singh.

The party has adopted two resolutions at the executive meeting. While it thanked the central leadership for holding the national executive meeting, it also decided to raise several issues against the BJD government.

Union Tribal Affairs minister Jual Oram and Petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan would attend the meeting on Sunday.

Notably, national President Amit Shah is set to visit the state again, where he will be interacting with the grassroot-level leaders to strengthen the party’s base. Shah will visit the state again in June and August.
