Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday said his party will decide on NDA’s Presidential candidate after discussion with senior party leaders.
“We will clear our stand on support to NDA candidate after discussion with senior leaders. We will let you know after that,” Patnaik told media persons here.
Sources said BJD is likely to clear its stand after the opposition parties declares their Presidential candidate.
Opposition parties will meet on June 22 to decide on fielding a consensus candidate for the presidential election.
Notably, BJP on Monday announced Bihar Governor Ramnath Kovind as its candidate for next President of India.
The election will be held on July 17.
