Bhubaneswar: The police on Friday lodged cases against two persons for taking photographs with the help of their mobile camera during a visit to Jagannath Temple with family members in Odisha’s Puri.
The Singhadwara police lodged cases against the duo after their photograph inside the Jagannath Temple went viral on social media. Taking photographs and videos inside the temple is strictly prohibited.
The two are Akash Madake of Pune and Jugal Kishore Vaishnav of Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
Police said the FIRs were lodged on the basis of a complaint filed to them by the Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) recently. Akash and Jugal have been charged under Sri Jagannath Temple Act and Information Technology (IT) Act of 2000.
