Govt to introduce class XI in Odisha high schools

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is working on a proposal for introduction of class XI in selected high schools from the 2018-19 session as a part of education reform in the state, said an official on Sunday.

School and Mass Education Department would soon identify schools having the necessary infrastructure for introduction of class XI in Odisha high schools.

The department has been asked to identify the schools by end of January 2018 so that admissions can start at the earliest, said sources.

High schools in 13 undivided district headquarters could preferably be selected for introducing class XI on a pilot project basis.

The junior lecturers who have been teaching in plus II classes will join the schools to teach the students of class XI in Odisha high schools.

Notably, Plus Two has been separated from Higher Education Department and is with the School and Mass Education department.
