Bhubaneswar: The smelter plant of National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), located at Angul, has bagged the National Energy Conservation Award in aluminium sector for the year 2017.
On behalf of the company, PK Pradhan, Regional Manager (Northern Region), NALCO, received the award from Abhay Bakre, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, at the National Energy Conservation Award ceremony held in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
President of India Ram Nath Kovind graced the National Energy Conservation Day celebrations as the chief guest. Besides, Raj Kumar Singh, Union Minister of State for Power was also present on the occasion.
It may be mentioned here that NALCO has always given importance to energy conservation through its operations at its plants and units.
Going a step further, the company has also taken up significant green initiatives to harness unconventional energy sources like solar and wind power plants.
