BJD’s 20th foundation day celebrations begins at Puri

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leaders on Tuesday gathered for the 20th foundation day celebrations at the Talabania indoor stadium in Puri.

BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would address a huge gathering of BJD workers. The party is organising the public meeting to show its strength in the run-up to the 2019 elections.
Prior to the meeting, BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik visited Jagganath Temple and sought the blessings of the deities.

Party sources claimed that an estimated 30,000 workers and leaders from across the state would participate in the BJD foundation day celebration.

It is expected that Naveen Patnaik would announce some new programmes or projects during the meeting as Patnaik would head a cabinet meeting at Puri before leaving to attend the congregation of the party workers.

Besides, the BJD Chief will give them ‘the mantra’ to prepare for the coming general elections scheduled for 2019.

Exactly 20 years ago the BJD was formed under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik and observed its inception day here in this Pilgrim City.
