Stipend hike for house surgeons in Odisha


Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday announced to hike stipend of house surgeons of state-run medical colleges and hospitals from existing Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.

The health and family welfare department described the stipend hike for house surgeons as New Year gift.

The stipend hike for house surgeons will be effective from April 1, 2017.

Health Minister Pratap Jena said the stipend hike for house surgeons working at SCB Medical College & Hospital, Maharaja Krishna Chandra Gajapati (MKCG) Medical College & Hospital and Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) has been from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000.
